Increase Self-Sufficiency

The Center for Employment Opportunities is proud to provide training and assistance in finding permanent employment.

CEO provides job training and employment skills to Luzerne County residents designed to meet the needs of local employers. The program is designed to help solve the problems of unemployment and/or underemployment.

The Center for Employment Opportunities provides job training and employment skills to assist low-income Luzerne County residents in securing employment. If you or someone you know is struggling to find a job, the center can help with job training, help with getting a GED, and assist with obtaining employment.

The staff at the center conducts an orientation that includes determining the participant's career interests, an assessment of his or her skills, and offers resolutions and support services to help with obstacles that may be deterring the participant from obtaining and retaining employment. After orientation, the participant may receive skills enhancement to assist with:

  • obtain training in job readiness sessions
  • possibly obtain a higher level of training that is geared for a specific job position.

Once the informational and training segments are complete, the participant then goes into the job search segment where he or she will be assisted with

  • sending out resumes
  • filling out job applications
  • successfully performing in a job interview
  • many times, receiving job placement with specific employers.

Interested individuals should take advantage of this great opportunity, by calling the Center for Employment Opportunities for more information.
